What's new in version 5

There are many improvements and changes for V5 of our products, not least the change from a product based model to a service based one - we now use the SaaS (Software as a service) model.

The move to being service based has many benefits to clients:

New licensing paradigm, where all the rights are now controlled server side

We now offer FREE support, maintenance and updates
The core technology is always up to date, essential in beating the crackers
Customers can now use any platform they wish for no extra cost (Win/Mac)
Everything is centralized and automated instead of being seperate apps
Integration is better and easier as we no longer need extra support files
It's all online, 24x7x365, so it's much easier for collaboration and access

In addition there are many feature additions:

Both V4 and V5 products can co-exist
Fixed end dates are available
Trial periods now decrement to minutes (as well as days)
Web services are now available for V5
There is a Visual Studio integration kit
New class libraries for even faster integration
License code generation is fully automated and instant
User definable 5 digit data now included in the DLL
A full range of license code types allows for many new sales models
Licensing on-the-fly allows for instant changes in the field, post deployment, no re-install
100 modules, with both trial and activation characteristics
Now you can deploy a single binary to control all product flavors
More security across the platform
Greater code flexibility - 999,999 license codes per product; 99,999 products per customer
DLL versioning and history
Activation controls to optionally prevent the "moving" of a license
New control activation "license manager" utility to optimize customer brand and ease of use
More robust and automated registration capability

Feature differences:

VMWare blocking is optional now
Ghost blocking has more options
Now only the filechk.dll to deploy, no support DLLs
18 digit license codes instead of 15 digit
The client side API is extended and a web services interface is available
Modules have increased from 16 to 100 and are nameable
The production of the DLLs, manual unlock codes and demo restarts is **now done online**
The older license controller is now retired
The older ways to manually activate are being retired and being replaced server side

What's the same:

The basic client side "technical" infrastructure is the same as V4
Same service and license table data schema so there's no need to replace these
