Capturing your end user data
You can now sell to a distributor and then on to the reseller and then onto the customer and still know who the end user customer is. The end user details can be captured through forced or voluntary registration.

Timely reporting
You can see how many licenses each reseller has actually sold in real time and this enables your salespeople to target those resellers who were selling out or conversely help those resellers who sales were slow. Your VP Sales may find this interesting to see how he can generate more revenue.

Entitlement flexibility
Control entitlements tightly but with ease. License codes can be initially assigned to products with universal entitlements then Codes can be assigned to resellers and you can decide more specific rights using Reseller specific code “profiles”.

Delegating responsibility to resellers
You can setup your distributors but give them the ability to set up sub-resellers; you give them some flexibility but retain overall control. They can create their own Profiles for their resellers - these are called "created" profiles. This is different from "assigned" Codes - which you control - because they have less rights. Resellers can also manage and input end user details against codes that the ISV can review.

Allowing end users access
You can also enable end users to log in and see the status of their licenses along with any activity. This means that you can have both your channel and end users “self serving” and reviewing their licenses saving a great deal of operational time and cost.

The NLS™ Reseller Control Panel facility is a great way to optimize your sales through the channel and ensure that your licenses are safe and secure. You can see everything happening on your license codes down two levels of distribution channel along with final destination in terms of the end user.

The ISV buys the codes through the hosted service and can then configure these based on the channel needs, tier or vertical - however you want, with whatever features restrictions you wish. These license codes are then assigned to profiles so you can have many different "pools" of codes for various partners as you wish. The prfiles are then allocated to your chosen resellers.

If you have a two-tier arrangement then you allocate batches of codes to your distributor and set them up to administer these codes, while fully controlling the rights and entitlements! Your distributor can then easily sell these on to users or resellers. The distributor has the capability to add resellers and manage those on your behalf and to issue them a sub-set of the codes given to the distributor.

The reseller (who is served by the distributor) can then simply sell these licenses to their markets along with managing end users. The system is easy to use and manage for everyone while providing chinese walls between channel partners but giving the ISV complete control.
