The new “trial conversion maximizer” technology is a unique solution from Nalpeiron.
The TrialMaximizer technology enables ISVs to radically improve their revenues through improved trial conversion and communication with the end user. Combining unique Nalpeiron technology and a marketing system, the TrialMaximizer technology enables product marketing to send precisely timed email communications to registered end users to encourage them to try and buy your software all at no additional cost (no charge for trial activations).
It relies on the way that the Nalpeiron licensing system can send special license data to the server for tracking at start the point of a trial, this information allows us to anonymously track a trial (and also to register a trial) from the exact point a trial commences, unlike other methods.
The system will allow ISV to capture user data (as well as license data) at the point of a trial starting (e.g. collect a name and email) providing you with the opportunity to follow up – this is key.
The combination of the exact start date and user data is the ‘secret sauce’ as most ISVs have no idea when a trial “starts”, the best data they can get is when it was a trial downloaded and maybe from where. The very nature of licensing technology of old was that a trial would start whenever the app was first “run” and typically this could be from never to many months after a download – this caused a “disconnect’ and a very big problem: when is the right time to set sales or marketing actions, send email messages and offers to the end user to make them buy?
Firing marketing actions off without the right data will have little impact on the trial conversion rate as they will not be aligned with the trial process at the end user. It is critical these actions align to maximize sales revenues. This is evidenced by the dismal conversion rates of around 5% industry wide.
The Nalpeiron solution is to link the exact start date of a trial with an automated marketing system that sends time related emails to encourage the sale and improve the trial conversion rate. When the trial is converted to a sale this is logged via an “activation” and if the trial lapses then the system can keep marketing to the lead to capture the sale even post trial.
The system is designed to allow the ISV to send a range of user designed, and controlled, personalized emails (text and html) to the trial users with links to useful information, training and marketing materials that will be timed just right to optimize the chances of a sale. For example, in the first few days that a trial starts to send training info. to ensure it starts smoothly, then to follow up with sales messages to motivate and then finally closing messages at the end of the trial to encourage a sale via a click or a call. If the trial does not result in a sale, 95% of trials, then the messages will continue but perhaps start to make special offers to try and maximize the close rate.
All trials that have lapsed but not resulted in a sale will be flagged for follow up by your sales people to follow up (assuming you have registration switched on) at just the right time i.e. after they have started to look at your product but not bought. For the first time the product manager will know who is a hot prospect and who didn’t bother to start a trial!
The technology will automatically connect the trial process to the ISV account and a specific product within the Nalpeiron Licensing Service (without the need for a special code) and if you collect user data it will put a name to the trial process - this then seamlessly connects up with an activation (license code) when they buy.
The dashboard will incorporate charts and reports to enable full tracking of the trials in progress and the conversion metrics.
